Honestly, I don't understand how he didn't get manslaughter...even though I understand originally he was only supposed to be up for 2nd degree murder. This is crazy. He followed that kid, ignored instructions to stay put and then was armed and used that gun. What an idiot...he won't have much of a life anyway. This will surely just add to the divisiveness of people in our country. Ugh.
As I understand Florida's law, and I admit I'm just getting info on it from the talking heads on TV, the only thing that mattered was if TM was on top of GZ and hitting him when GZ pulled the trigger.  Everything that led up to that, from either guy, didn't make a bit of difference.  It would have been different if they'd gone for involuntary manslaughter, not voluntary.  Ultimately the prosecutors charged him with the wrong crime(s).  For that I blame that horrible state attorney, Angela Corey.  I was ready to reach through the TV and smack her when she was making her statement and answering questions with that cheshire cat/beauty pageant smile on her face.
