I was called for federal jury duty twice when I lived in Wisconsin. I was told by all my colleagues that people with doctorates were *never* selected for juries, so I shouldn't worry about it. And what do you know, I was chosen for both juries. One criminal, one civil. It was an interesting experience both times, and I appreciated the "doing my civic duty" aspect of it as well. I agree that I would *not* want to be on a jury in a high profile case, however. That takes things to a whole other level, and I hope that nothing bad happens to any of the jurors or their families as a result of their verdict.
